PHOTOS: Martin Skrtel and Suso train as Liverpool prepare for West Ham

The duo featured prominently at Melwood as Brendan Rodgers led his side through training.

Martin Skrtel is back in training ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with West Ham this weekend - and he wasn't one to shy away from the tackles and the head tennis on Thursday afternoon.

The Slovakian has been out injured recently, allowing Mamadou Sakho to deputise for him at centre-back (with mixed results). Statistically, the Frenchman has fared well in Skrtel's absence. But a few positional errors and the odd sloppy pass suggest Sakho still has plenty of flaws in his game.

As such, if Skrtel is fit, boss Brendan Rodgers may consider throwing him straight in at West Ham. That much can only be ascertained from training, though, where the 29-year-old has been all smiles.

Joining the defender were a number of established and new names, although one in particular caught the eye.

Indeed, Suso has been linked with a January move away from Merseyside, despite the young Spaniard's obvious talent. The 20-year-old played a big part in Liverpool's pre-season campaign but has not been involved in the Premier League. Here he was, though, very involved at Melwood.

AC Milan has been touted as a possible destination for Suso - but could Rodgers be planning to include him at Upton Park this weekend as a type of hands-off warning?
