Chelsea star John Terry takes to social media to express disappointment after Schalke draw in Champions League

Chelsea defender John Terry says that there is still a long way to go in the Champions League after his side’s 1-1 draw with Schalke at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Chelsea captain John Terry has taken to social media to reassure the fans that they will progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Blues were expected to get the better of Schalke at Stamford Bridge in their opening Group G game on Wednesday night, but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who joined the London club from Barcelona in the summer, put the hosts in the lead after just 11 minutes.

However, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar denied Chelsea a winning start to their European campaign when he scored the equaliser for Schalke in the 62nd minute.

Chelsea did have chances late on to win the match, but they failed to take them. After the game, Terry posted the following photo on Instagram along with the message: ‘Disappointing not winning tonight, but a long way to go in the group. Thanks for all your support at the Bridge tonight. #Nike’.

In the other game in the group, NK Maribor and Sporting Lisbon played out a 1-1 draw in Slovenia.
