Arsenal have been linked with making a move for Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama in January.
The 23-year-old is in his second season with the Saints after switching from Celtic, where he impressed in the Champions League.
The Mail report Wanyama could be open to a move, suggesting he could be available for £15 million.
It adds: "The Kenya international is unsettled at Southampton and has been on Arsenal's radar for two years."
Arsenal signed Calum Chambers from Southampton for £16 million in the summer, and if a deal was to be done, it's likely the Saints would demand more than the price The Mail suggests for another rising star.
The Gunners were also linked with Morgan Schneiderlin in the summer who would also remain an option. The Mail suggest Marseilles' Gianni Imbula, William Carvalho and Lars Bender are also options.
Wanyama has made two Premier League starts and one appearance off the bench this season, playing the second 45 minutes in the 4-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend.
Arsenal are in need of a defensive midfielder to add strength and discipline to their midfield, with both Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta into their 30s.
