The club are still reeling from the upsetting news that captain Chris Cohen has suffered a serious cruciate knee ligament injury - the third of his career.
The blow was confirmed by the club last night, and free scoring striker Britt Assombalonga spoke after the 5-3 win against Fulham about it.
He told Forest's website: "It’s sad news which has affected all the boys.
“At training he always speaks to everyone, encouraging people. He’s obviously still going to be around but not having him on the pitch will be difficult.
“But if we can keep doing well he’ll be happy, and when you’re happy things start to go well for you.
Cohen spent last season from November on the sidelines, so he and Forest know what it is like to cope without each other, but that does not make the latest blow any easier.
With a nine month recovery time projected, he will hope that he will make a return in time to lift the Championship trophy, and even to the Premier League next season.
