Arsenal’s under-19s kicked off their UEFA Youth League campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
In a reverse of the score-line from Tuesday evening’s senior match-up, the young Gunners scored twice to ensure they went straight to the top of their group.
Galatasaray are currently second in the group after overcoming Anderlecht in the other encounter, and Arsenal’s next match is against the Turkish club on Wednesday October 1.
Both Arsenal’s goals came from 16-year-old Kaylen Hinds, the first coming in the 14th minute after fine work from Dan Crowley and the second arriving 13 minutes before half-time.
That was how the score remained and Arsenal’s young guns can be very proud of their day’s work.
After slipping to a defeat against Jurgen Klopp’s side a few hours earlier, the senior side will be far less happy with their trip to Germany, but they still have plenty of time to turn things around.
