Fabian Delph has been posing with the award he won in May.

It has been a great 12 months for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph. The talented maestro has finally lived up to his promise from his Leeds United days and become a regular at Aston Villa.

Add to that his recent England debut and there is no doubting the fact that Delph is going through a golden patch in his career right now.

His performance against Switzerland earlier in the month really did catch the eye and has earned the plaudits of many a pundit since. Add to that his recent display for Villa against Liverpool and frankly we have a rather special talent on our hands.

His performances for Villa last season did not go unnoticed. Delph was voted the Aston Villa Player of the Year by Villa fans in May - saying of the award at the time:

"It's a great honour to win this award. It's great that the fans have acknowledged that I've done well for the club."

He pipped Gabby Agbonlahor and Leandro Bacuna to the award and he has now proudly posed with it during Aston Villa's photocall this week.

He will now hope to hold more silverware as Aston Villa's impressive-so-far season continues.
