Ipswich Town fans react to Daryl Murphy strike on Twitter

The golazo nature of Murphy's strike during the 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion has polarised fans. Should Stockdale have done better?

Ipswich Town laboured to a 2-0 Championship victory over Brighton and Hove last night, Tuesday, with goals arriving via Johnathan Parr and Daryl Murphy deep in the second half.

The triumph keeps Ipswich within fighting distance of the playoff zone but one of the main talking points from the game was Murphy's strike.

The goal was a result of a fast break, with Murphy capitalising on some questionable positioning from Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale.

Ipswich Town posted a video of the goal on their official social media channels, terming it a "screamer!"

However, reaction was polarised over whether the goal actually warranted such a label.

The loss puts Brighton in 18th spot in the Championship table with just seven points returned from seven games.
