Arsene Wenger has rued the poor finishing of striker Danny Welbeck against Borussia Dortmund but backed him to improve.
The England international failed to land any of his efforts on target, with chances coming at crucial times in the game.
One was midway through the first half with the score poised at 0-0, and another in the 75th minute, when he blazed over, and could have inspired a late fightback.

Wenger told SkySports he was impressed with other aspects of his game, but admitted he struggled with his finishing.
"Welbeck was dangerous but he tired in the second half. He couldn't finish tonight but he looked lively and for all the rest he did well.
"He needs a goal to get that off his shoulders."
The good news? Welbeck and Arsenal face Aston Villa at the weekend, an opponent in which he has netted three times in four appearances.
