Devastating injury update for Nottingham Forest as Chris Cohen ACL rupture confirmed

Forest City Ground

Chris Cohen is likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering another serious knee injury.

Speculation Chris Cohen has ruptured his ACL for the third time has been confirmed by Nottingham Forest assistant manager Steve Wigley.

Cohen was injured early in the match against Derby County at the weekend and it immediately looked to be serious.

The captain underwent a scan on Tuesday afternoon and Wigley has detailed the severity of the results.

He told Forest's website: "I don’t think I’ve ever worked with a better professional or a better person. We’re all feeling it and we hope he has a good recovery.

“It’s a blow for Chris, it’s a blow for the football club and it’s a blow for the fans. We know he’ll come back from it, we’ve no doubts whatsoever.

“You can’t put into words how unlucky he’s been but he’s been through it before and he’ll come through it again. We’ll get a fully fit Chris Cohen back in nine months time.”

Wigley was speaking after Stuart Pearce's side defeated Fulham 5-3 at the City Ground to return to the top of the Championship table.
