More than 100 million hours have been played in the first week since launch.

Bungie’s new shooter Destiny has shifted around $325 million worth of units according to Activision.

This has been achieved within the first five days since the game launched, in which time 100 million hours of gameplay has been clocked up by players.

The staggering sales figure is ”according to Chart-Track, first parties, retail customer sell-through information and Activision Blizzard internal estimates.” state Activision. This new set of stats from the publishers follows the news last week that Destiny made over $500 million through sales to retailers.

“Destiny fans played more than 100 million hours of the game in the first week. That’s on par with the engagement levels of our most popular Call of Duty games, which obviously is an industry leader,” said Activision’s Eric Hirshberg.

“Millions of gamers are having a great time playing Destiny and can’t put down their controllers. And this is just the beginning. Destiny is a platform that will grow and evolve and we will continue to work closely with our partners at Bungie to bring a long line of new experiences and content to life in the game.”
