Chelsea get their 2014/15 Champions League campaign underway tonight, with Schalke travelling to face the Blues in West London.
The two sides renew pleasantries at Stamford Bridge tonight having been in the same group in last season's Champions League, as Chelsea ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in both games.
Tonight, Jose Mourinho looks to get his side off to a good start, whilst Maribor host Sporting Lisbon in the other game in Group G. Much will be expected of Chelsea having not only made the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, but also having made a stunning start to the new Premier League season.
Wins over Burnley, Leicester City, Everton and Swansea City leave Chelsea top of the Premier League table at this early stage of the season, with Diego Costa's seven goals in four games the big talking point so far, and the Spaniard will be looking to take advantage of Schalke's defensive woes tonight.
Jens Keller's side are in 17th place in the Bundesliga table after three games, with just one point to their name as they lie third from bottom. It has been far from an ideal start for the Gelsenkirchen-based side, and their hopes of keeping Costa quiet have been dealt a huge blow with the news that star centre back Benedikt Howedes will miss the game with a hip injury.
Chelsea will be hoping to profit greatly from that, and it would be little surprise to see Mourinho and the Blues rack up another comfortable win - possibly 3-0 again - over Schalke tonight.
