Much-hyped Arsenal teenager Hector Bellerin had a game to forget as the Gunners were comfortably beaten away to Borussia Dortmund.
The Spaniard was dealt a poor hand, thrown in for his first ever start due to injuries, and asked to defend at right-back with playmaker Mesut Ozil 'protecting' his flank.
The entire Arsenal side was exposed by a vibrant Dortmund line-up, who made up for their home defeat to the Gunners last season.
The Germans attacked heavily down Bellerin's side, and the Spaniard did his utmost to try to keep the score down, but it was only poor finishing from Dortmund which kept it at 2-0.
The 19-year-old completed just 64 per cent of his passes, and made just two tackles and one interception.
The former Barcelona trainee was only on loan at Watford last season, but the Westfalenstadion proved a step up too steep.
A lack of options means Bellerin may retain his place and get a second chance when Arsenal face Aston Villa at the weekend, but Arsene Wenger may elect to start Calum Chambers in his place.
Here is a look at how fans reacted to his performance:
Poor Bellerin. He's gonna be scarred for life. #AFC— BASHÖRUN GÖÖNER (@SPARKLYN_SHY) September 16, 2014
Bellerin loosing balls too easily, no way near Debuchy, I even think Jenko is better than him #AFC— Alexis the Warrior (@Jakubinko) September 16, 2014
