United morning news: Ronaldo latest; three linked with January moves

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United fans are waking up this morning to continuing reports that Cristiano Ronaldo could be in line for a sensational return to Old Trafford next summer.

Following comments on Monday from Sky Sports’ pundit Guillem Balague that United either have prepared or are currently preparing an offer for the Portuguese international, the reports are beginning to multiply.

The Daily Star claims United could be in the box-seat for Ronaldo after another of his reported future destinations, Paris Saint-Germain, was seemingly ruled out.

The report includes quotes from French journalist Sylvie de Macedo, who said, “To our knowledge, PSG has not taken any steps to recruit him. How could he with the constraints of financial fair play?”

Elsewhere, the Manchester Evening News has brought together all the latest transfer rumours relating to United, with the usual suspects Mats Hummels and Kevin Strootman thrown into the rumour mill once again, along with 15-year-old Feyenoord teenager Tahith Chong.

Even with the summer transfer window well and truly closed, United looking in fine fettle on the pitch and January a long way off, those rumours just keep coming.
