Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Kaboul on captaincy, Juve star on radar

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul says he’s honoured to be named as the club’s new captain.

Kaboul replaces the outgoing Michael Dawson who joined Hull City in the summer transfer window.

“To follow in the footsteps of some of the legendary captains that have represented this football club is a fantastic honour,” he said.

In transfer news, talkSPORT is reporting that Spurs will go up against Arsenal to sign Sebastian Giovinco from Juventus this winter.

The 27-year-old is thought to be keen on a move away from the club to find more regular first team football.

He made just 11 appearances in the league for champions Juventus over the course of last season.

Emmanuel Adebayor couldn’t help but have a little fun as Tottenham posed for their official team photo.

Sat in between Jan Vertonghen and manager Mauricio Pochettino, Adebayor whipped out his phone for a selfie.

The striker has a strong social media presence across various platforms as the boss overlooked his antics.
