Manchester United are planning to offer a new long-term contract to Andrea Pereira according to reports.

The midfielder was on the bench for United’s 4-0 victory against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, and now the Daily Star has picked up on claims that the 18-year-old will be offered a new deal to prevent him leaving for free next summer.

The player’s current deal expires in July 2015, and the report suggests United do not want to lose Pereira as they did another young player – Paul Pogba – during Sir Alex Ferguson’s time in charge.

In other news, Radamel Falcao has revealed that a prayer in the bathroom preceded his move to Old Trafford.

Sport Witness reports that the Colombian international spoke at a Christian church during the international break, during which he revealed that he prayed with a pastor in a bathroom while he waited to see if he would move on from AS Monaco.

The report goes on to state that half an hour after the forward prayed, he was told a move to United had been agreed.
