Stevan Jovetic has won the Manchester City Player of the Month award for August.
The Montenegro international had a fantastic pre-season campaign that suggested he was finally set for his breakthrough season at the club he joined last summer; and he continued that form with a fine display against Newcastle United and a two-goal haul against Liverpool.
Those performances have seen the 24-year-old awarded the prize ahead of Sergio Aguero and Fernando, who finished second and third in the vote.
Following the departure of Alvaro Negredo, City fans may have wondered if Manuel Pellegrini had enough front-men to ensure another succesful season both domestically and abroad. And while the majority still appear to want another striker in January, Jovetic is doing a fine job for now.
Currently out injured, City will be hoping to get Jovetic back as soon as possible, especially when you consider the league, cup and European games are coming thick and fast.
