Former Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella is the surprise front runner for the Leeds United manager job.
There has been a major shift in the betting patterns for the Leeds United manager job over the past 24 hours with a clear favourite emerging.
As Monday began, caretaker boss Neil Redfearn was the favourite, only to see his chances publicly dismissed by owner Massimo Cellino.
Cellino told the Yorkshire Evening Post he did not want to uproot Redfearn from his valuable academy role, and was eyeing a different type of manager.
He said he was seeking to appoint a 'foreign coach, an international coach', and a very high profile name has emerged as favourite; Alejandro Sabella.
Sabella is 2/1 on to be the next Leeds manager with SkyBet, with the closest rivals Steve Clarke and Roberto di Matteo both at 12/1.
It would certainly be a newsworthy appointment; Sabella was the Argentina coach at the World Cup in leading them to the final of the tournament.
Sabella played for Leeds in the 1980s for a season after being sold by Sheffield United, costing the club £400,000.
