The summer signing netted against his former club West Ham United and he has been speaking about the match with the Tigers’ official website.
“I enjoyed my debut very much,” he said.
“It was a strange feeling playing against my old team and colleagues, but it is something that I had been looking forward to while I was away on international duty.
“I was dreaming on Sunday night that I would score two, but in the end it was just one. But it was still a very special moment.”
The game ended 2-2 with £10million signing Abel Hernandez also grabbing a debut goal for Hull.
Tigers boss Steve Bruce has been speaking about the former Palermo striker’s impact and why he opted to throw him straight into the action despite only just receiving international clearance.
In quotes published by the Shields Gazette, Bruce said, “It was just his attitude. He’s been back (from international duty) and in Europe for three, four, five (days) waiting patiently for his passport.
“So we went to Croydon to the office for it, we flew to Roma with it and met him there in Rome.”
All that effort certainly paid off, and Bruce will be hoping Hernandez continues to get the goals in the months to come.
And finally, Hull player David Meyler has expressed his delight following the announcement that Jordan Henderson is Liverpool’s new vice-captain.
“Delighted for Hendo to be named vice-captain,” Meyler tweeted of his former Sunderland teammate.
