'Get Ronaldo home' - Fjortoft calls on Fergie to help bring back star

Jan Aage Fjortoft has suggested Sir Alex Ferguson could be key in getting Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United.

European football expert Jan Aage Fjortoft has suggested Sir Alex Ferguson has one final job left to do at Manchester United; help the club re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

United’s former boss was in charge when United first signed Ronaldo and he oversaw the deal, which allowed the Portuguese superstar to head off to Real Madrid back in 2009.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has dropped huge hints that everything is in place for Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is thought to be disillusioned in Madrid following the sales of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal and Angel Di Maria to United, which has created a desire for him to head back to England.

Fjortoft suggests the time is right for Fergie, now a director at the club, to get involved and ensure that Ronaldo returns with money seemingly not an obstacle to the club.

United spent big throughout the summer to drastically enhance the quality in Louis van Gaal’s squad and if the opportunity to land Ronaldo comes about, it would be amazing if van Gaal objects.

Get to it Sir Alex.
