Manchester United set to swoop for Feyenoord's 15-year-old midfield prodigy Tahith Chong pic.twitter.com/hfJYGG9TP1— MailOnline Sport (@MailSport) September 15, 2014
According to reports, United have invited the youngster to training in an attempt to prize him away from Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord.
Club scouts watched Chong, who sports a similar afro to that of Marouane Fellaini, at the Premier Cup tournament recently held at United's Carrington training ground.
Despite not sounding typically Dutch, Chong has represented the Netherlands at under-16 level and plays either in midfield or as a centre-forward.
The youngster is meant to possess a great burst of speed as well as good technical and goal scoring ability.
United are reportedly hoping that their world class youth facilities and the potential to learn from some of the greatest players in the game will convince Chong to sign for the club.
His decision might be made a little easier by the fact that only last month United snapped up his fellow Dutch compatriot who goes by the name of Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
Fosu-Mensah, aged 16, plays as a centre-back and joined the club from Ajax, a club renowned for producing world class players from their academy.
Despite United having spent upward of £150 million on new signings for the immediate future, it seems that they haven't lost all their youth focus.
Another name who keeps cropping up with links to the Red Devils is 15-year-old Martin Odegaard, and he is currently taking Norway by storm. His form for club-side Stromsgodset has been so impressive that he has already been capped by the senior Norway international side.
