Injury hit striker Andy Carroll is making positive steps in his comeback West Ham have confirmed, but there is no early return expected.
The £15 million striker picked up an ankle injury in pre-season which required surgery, a development which left him 'devastated'.
Carroll has however returned to the training pitch, Hammers co-chairman David Gold stated on Twitter early on Sunday morning.

When pressed however later the same evening, Gold suggested Carroll is likely to make his return in November,
When Carroll went down with the injury in July, the BBC reported he faced four months out, and Gold remains confident there is no reason to talk of any setback.
