3DS owners can download a demo of the upcoming Super Smash Bros on Nintendo 3DS before it's release in October.

Nintendo have announced that the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will have a playable demo available from 19th September on the Nintendo eShop.

If you're a Club Nintendo member you may have already received an email containing four download codes for the demo. However this email was only sent out to 'selected Club Nintendo members'.

The demo will allow players 'unlimited play' using five playable characters; Mario; Villager; Link; Pikachu; and Mega Man in Smash mode on the Battlefield stage. Local multiplayer is also available in the demo, so make sure you share your codes out to friends, who aren't Club Nintendo members, to play against each other.

When the demo launches for everyone on 19th September it will contain everything Club Nintendo members have been able to play a week earlier, however it can only be played a maximum of 30 times.

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U has potentially had it's unnanounced launch date leaked after a photo of a reservation card stating the game's release date was posted online.

Super Smash Bros. 3DS is due for release on 3rd October in the US and Europe.
