Manchester United attacker Adnan Januzaj was initially expected to wear the number 44 on his back, but he changed it to 11 last month.
The announcement of the chance of numbers was made on Sunday, August 17 - a month after the youngster’s number 44 shirt went on sale.
One young United fan, eight-year-old James Collins, had bought Januzaj’s old shirt for £93.20, but, according to the Daily Mail, the United club superstore refused to change it for him.
However, Januzaj came to the rescue of Collins and gave him a new United shirt with the number 11 on the back. What is more heartening is that the 19-year-old Belgium international, who played at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in the summer, gave it to him in person.
Collins must surely be happy now. Not only did he get a new Januzaj shirt, but he also got to meet the United star in person. That’s one lucky kid!
