GK – Joe Bendik (Toronto FC)
Bendik was at fault for giving up a second-half spot kick but made up for it with the ensuing save, before a string of superb stops helped Toronto claim a 1-1 draw on the road to the Chicago Fire.
RB – DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders)
The soon-to-be Tottenham youngster contributed to each of Seattle’s three goals in Friday’s 3-2 win over Western Conference rivals Real Salt Lake, including setting up the dramatic 94th-minute winner.
CB – Kendall Waston (Vancouver Whitecaps)
Having arrived in Vancouver last month, it was Waston’s performance in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over San Jose which was especially impressive, with the Costa Rican creating the first goal, scoring the second and stifling the opposition attack for the entire 90 minutes.
CB – Zach Loyd (FC Dallas)
Playing at centre-back again on Saturday, the versatile Loyd marshalled the Dallas back-line to help keep an intimidating Vancouver attack in check and earn his side a 2-1 win.
LB – Waylon Francis (Columbus Crew)
The second Costa Rican to feature in this week’s defence, another two assists for Francis in the weekend’s 2-2 draw on the road to Houston means it’s now six on the season for the Crew left-back.
CM – Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution)
Nguyen again showed why he’s a legitimate MVP candidate on Saturday with a clinical performance in the 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact, further strengthening his case for a US national team call-up.
CM – Dax McCarty (New York Red Bulls)
McCarty pulled the strings in the Red Bulls midfielder during Wednesday’s decisive 1-0 win over D.C. United, before another solid outing in Sunday’s 2-2 draw away to the Philadelphia Union.
RW – Lloyd Sam (New York Red Bulls)
The Englishman came up big in midweek with the winning goal against United, pushing Mike Petke’s side back into the post-season picture in the process.
AM – Javier Morales (Real Salt Lake)
The Argentine playmaker was excellent on Friday despite defeat to the Sounders, picking up a goal and assist on the night in what was a valiant effort from the visiting team.
LW – Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
After a few underwhelming performances in recent weeks, Zusi helped end Sporting KC’s four-game losing streak with a goal and assist in the 4-0 win over bottom-dwellers Chivas USA.
ST – Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders)
The former Newcastle United man grabbed Seattle’s second in their win over Salt Lake, while also looking dangerous whenever on the ball, hitting the crossbar on another occasion.
