Tottenham latest, Adebayor on 100 appearances, boost in chase of Italian star?

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor was happy to hit the 100-game mark for the club during the side's 2-2 draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

He's quoted by the Tottenham website, saying: “It’s good for me, I’m very happy. I know I have the confidence of everyone at the club and I’ll try to keep doing my job and doing my best.

“I’m happy to have reached 100 games, now I look forward to 101 and 102 and I’ll try to score as many goals as I can and help the team as much as possible.”

The forward has scored 41 goals for the club ever since making the move to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham were reportedly targeting Lazio star Antonio Candreva during the summer, and the midfielder has said he could've left the Serie A side, but signed a new deal with the club.

TalkSport have picked up on quotes from Italy, where he said: "I could have gone, there was the possibility but I want to become a star here."

Arsenal were also rumoured to be interested in the player, and both clubs are reported to be interested Sebastian Giovinco from Juventus. 

TalkSport has picked up on reports in Italy which suggest the Serie A Champions are willing to offload the 27-year-old attacking midfielder during the January transfer window.
