Angel di Maria is not the only South American threatening to tear up the Premier League.
The Argentine dazzled on his home debut for Manchester United against QPR, opening the scoring from a free-kick and winning the man-of-the-match award.
But Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez had an impressive weekend too, scoring in his third consecutive game for the Gunners.
He struck to put them ahead in the weekend's early game against Manchester City, before the away side battled back for a 2-2 draw.
Di Maria's United had a more comfortable fixture, winning 4-0 against an overwhelmed QPR side in a match fans will hope is a sign of what is to come.
He created four goalscoring opportunities in the 'contest', setting up a goal for Juan Mata in the second half.
That out-did Sanchez who carved out just the one goalscoring opportunity against City to add to his strike.
The Chilean however won more tackles, two to one, and made more successful dribbles than Di Maria, although Di Maria had more touches and recorded a better pass completion rate.
Last season in La Liga, Di Maria provided 17 assists and scored four times, while Sanchez scored 19 and provided 10 assists. It will be fascinating to see if either can out-perform their own records in the Premier League, but the early signs certainly look good for both.
