Bioware talks about the fortress players will call home and be able to customise in the game.
In an update on the Dragon Age: Inquisition website they held an interview with the producer of the game, Cameron Lee, which prompts him to talk about the Skyhold base of operations and how it functions.
Lee explains that Skyhold 'is a huge fortress and the seat of your power as the leader of the Inquisition'. Within this fortress you'll be directing your agents throughout the world and planning on how best to dispatch the Elder One.
Lee goes on to say Skyhold will start 'expanding and becoming more detailed' as you progress in the game. Different occurrences within the world will have 'a physical impact' on your fortress, with Lee saying that 'murals may be painted, and trophies collected and mysterious artifacts researched by your Inquisition followers'.
Everything from the largest parts of the fortress such as towers and the courtyard can be customised, including smaller aspects like furniture and drapes. 'Skyhold can be customized to reflect what sort of Inquisition you're leading', said Lee.
Completing side quests, exploration, or buying from merchants can gain you extra items to customise Skyhold. Plus the fortress houses all the followers you recruit into the Inquistion, with some of the more major characters having their own rooms.
Skyhold will also house a tavern, dungeon, throne room, library, garden, a vault, kitchen, guard tower, rookery, training ground and more. Yeah, it's sounding pretty bloomin' huge, and that's not even mentioning the crafting rooms you can visit to prepare for battle.
