Chelsea teenager Jeremie Boga continued his impressive form by scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory for the Blues’ under-21s against their Everton counterparts on Sunday.
The 17-year-old netted in a 3-1 win over Norwich City earlier in the season and he followed that up with a brace against the Toffees.
The French youngster scored the first goal after 17 minutes, when he was set up by Izzy Brown, and Boga would score the decisive second just before half-time, breaking through the midfield and shooting past Everton goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek.
While Brown is hailed by many as Chelsea’s one for the future, Boga is showing no signs of fading after an impressive pre-season in which he featured for Jose Mourinho’s first-team, scoring against RZ Pellets.
The attacking midfielder has a long way to go before he can stake a claim for a first-team shot at Chelsea, not least because of the amount of talent currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
But given his fine form for the under-21s despite his tender age, do not be surprised to see him feature in the League Cup match against Bolton Wanderers later this month.
