They say a picture says a 1000 words. For Newcastle fans, any words from yesterday might not be repeatable in print.
But for hosts Southampton, things, quite simply, couldn't be any rosier. Ronald Koeman's side are now fourth in the Premier League table after two wins and a draw from their opening four games and the Saints will now 'march on' to face Swansea City next weekend.
Fears that the South coast side could even face a relegation battle this season after selling some of their best players over the summer now seem extremely premature - and Saints fans will be wondering whether the sky really is the limit after another fine start to a Premier League campaign.
Two goals from Graziano Pelle sent the home side on their way, before Jack Cork and Morgan Schneiderlin finished the job off in style. For the visitors, however, the pressure could not be more intense on manager Alan Pardew. As if last season's 4-0 defeat at St Mary's wasn't enough, two such losses in a row might be too much for the Newcastle faithful to take.
Here, then, is a selection of the best pictures from yesterday's game. They should make for pleasant viewing for Southampton fans - but not those from Tyneside. Or Pardew himself.
