Chelsea maintained their 100 per cent record in the new season yesterday by despatching of Swansea City at Stamford Bridge.
It was a poor first-half performance from Chelsea however, as Swansea City dominated for large periods of the game in London.
But that man again Diego Costa soon came to the rescue. He scored an incredible hat-trick to make it seven goals in four games since his £32 million switch from Atletico Madrid this summer.
His impact at the club has been similar to that of Nemanja Matic's when he arrived in January. The Serbian re-signed for the club for a fee in the region of £21 million. He immediately became a pivotal part of the Chelsea side - playing important roles in wins against the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
And he has been speaking to the official Chelsea website about the impact Costa has had since arriving at the club.
He said of the Spanish international:
"Diego is very important for us, he’s a great striker, he scored three goals and that’s why Chelsea bought him. I hope he will continue to score goals; he works very hard on the pitch, not only offensively but defensively as well."
And Matic's thoughts probably echo those of every Chelsea fan - as Costa continues to highlight his importance to his new club.
