Manchester City couldn't bounce back from their shock defeat to Stoke with a win against Arsenal, but they did grab a late goal to snatch a point at the Emirates Stadium.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have had two weeks to recover from the loss to Stoke and whilst Danny Welbeck could have given Arsenal the lead early on, City opened the scoring after Jesus Navas threaded a ball into Sergio Aguero's path, and the Argentine striker slipped the ball underneath Wojciech Szczesny.
Arsenal then roared back in the second half, as Jack Wilshere danced past former Gunner Gael Clichy before lofting the ball over Joe Hart, and Alexis Sanchez made it two in two Premier League games with a stunning volley into the top corner, putting Arsene Wenger's men on the verge of a win.
But they couldn't keep City out at the other end and Martin Demichelis rescued a point for City with a header from a corner which Szczesny couldn't stop.
A point apiece was a fair result after an enthralling encounter in North London, and some City players took to Twitter to speak about the game and to look forward to their midweek Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.
Great game today from both teams. Very unlucky not to win it at the end. Let's move on now and focus on Bayern Munich for the CL.ComeonCity!— Pablo Zabaleta (@pablo_zabaleta) September 13, 2014
What can I say. Enough talking points but it was a good game. Hope all fans had a good time. Next stop Munich. #MCFC— Vincent Kompany (@VincentKompany) September 13, 2014
The draw was fair but we played a great match and almost had it in the last minutes. We must keep fighting - this just begins! C'mon, City!!— Sergio Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) September 13, 2014
