Liverpool morning news: Forward stopped feeling like a footballer; Lovren on defeat

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has been speaking following the Reds’ 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the England international said, “The lads are down and we know we’ve got to bounce back.

“Having a game on Tuesday is the best thing on the back of a defeat. We’re thoroughly disappointed with the result. These things happen; we’ve just got to bounce back quickly.”

Lallana was not the only Liverpool player to voice his disappointment after the match.

Speaking to the same website, fellow summer signing Dejan Lovren revealed the impact of the result.

“Of course, for everyone it hurts, especially the defence,” the Croatian international said.

“We didn’t start the game well and we conceded an easy goal from the corner.”

With a Champions League match against Ludogorets next week, Brendan Rodgers has the chance to get his side back to winning ways quickly.

And finally, Iago Aspas has been speaking following his loan move from Liverpool to Sevilla.

In an interview with Estadio Deportivo later published by Inside Futbol, Aspas said, “Since I came to Sevilla, I set the goal of feeling like a footballer once again.

“After a year without playing it is almost like starting from scratch.”

Given the players at Liverpool's disposal, Aspas is unlikely to feature prominently on his return, meaning this spell could be his chance to ensure a permanent move back to La Liga in due course.
