Real Madrid competed their sixth signing of the summer yesterday as they secured deal for Dutch wonderkid Mink Peeters.
The 16-year-old confirmed the transfer through his official Twitter page, saying: “Official Real Madrid player! Super happy with this opportunity and my dream has come true.”
Peeters - an attacking midfielder by trade - was formerly at the Ajax academy and is expected to join the Madrid youth academy before breaking into the Castilla side.
The Netherlands youth international only joined the Eredivise champions two years ago, but he has become the third youth player to leave this summer after Javairo Dilrosun and Timothy Fosu-Mensah joined Manchester City and Manchester United respectively.
In other news, United loanee Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez has been tipped for success in the Spanish capital after making a deadline day loan move to Los Merengues.
The Mexican international was deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after being unable to win himself a place in the Red Devils’ starting XI under new boss Louis Van Gaal.
The Spanish publication AS, however, believe that the former Chivas striker has an important part to play at the Santiago Bernabeu following the sale of former striker Alvaro Morata.
“Costly admittedly, but Real Madrid lacked a nine with a certain hunger for glory. With more miles on the big stage than Morata and a good scoring record in fewer minutes - Chicharito fits the part.” The report states.
Finally, new Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya has called former United hero Cristiano Ronaldo the most complete player in the world.
The duo are set to face each other tomorrow in the Madrid derby and Moya hasn’t help back in praise for the Portuguese superstar, telling the Spanish newspaper AS: "Probably in the whole of football Ronaldo is the most complete player there is in terms of skills that can be assessed".
Ronaldo has scored a whopping 255 goals in 250 appearances in all competitions since joining the club in a record £80 million deal in 2009, and is widely recognised alongside Lionel Messi as the best player of his generation.
