Queens Park Rangers could be at the end of a heavy defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
That’s the opinion of former Liverpool striker Michael Owen, who played for the Red Devils from 2009 until 2012.
‘An emotional Old Trafford return for United legend Rio Ferdinand and a new look United side with the distinct possibility that almost half the starting XI Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Angel Di Maria will be making their home debuts for the Red Devils against QPR on Sunday’, the ex-England international wrote on Betvictor.com.
‘It will be interesting to see how Louis van Gaal juggles his attacking options but I think we will see the real Manchester United side on Sunday. It could be a very long day for Harry Redknapp’s Rangers’.
Most football followers will agree with Owen. QPR will head into Sunday’s Premier League clash as huge underdogs, and even a draw is out of their reach (on paper at least).
United have made some massive signings in the summer transfer window, and all of them could feature against the London outfit.
Argentina international winger Angel di Maria has already played once for the Manchester-based club and will certainly start on Sunday, while star striker Radamel Falcao is also likely to be included in the line-up along with fellow newcomers Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo.
Whatever the formation is and whoever the players are, United do have enough quality to pick up all three points against Harry Redknapp's QPR side. But then again, strange things have happened in football...
