Ex-Tottenham chairman predicts Arsenal v Manchester City, comments on Welbeck

Arsenal

Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman Lord Sugar has his say on Arsenal against Manchester City and on England international striker Danny Welbeck.

Former Tottenham Hotspur chairman Lord Sugar has backed Arsenal to win their Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium today.

The Gunners will head into the match placed seventh in the league table with five points from three matches, while defending English champions are fourth with six points.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Stoke City at the Etihad Stadium in their last game and will be keen to bounce back.

Arsenal, though, will be confident of getting all three points tonight, with transfer deadline-day signing Danny Welbeck likely to start.

Lord Sugar is looking forward to today’s lunchtime kickoff and believes that England international striker Welbeck will have to turn on the style.

United manager Louis van Gaal recently said that he let Welbeck leave because the 23-year-old could not score enough goals for the club.

While the Dutchman does have a point, it cannot be ignored that Welbeck was often been played out wide during his time at the Red Devils – something that he will probably not have to do at Arsenal.

If Welbeck does start today against City, then he will be keen to prove Van Gaal and his other detractors wrong.
