Debuchy suffers serious looking injury - Tottenham and Chelsea games look unlikely

Mathieu Debuchy looks like facing a long spell out of action with injury.

Arsenal took on Manchester City in the Premier League in the early afternoon kick-off in a game between two sides with Premier League title hopes.

It was an exciting fixture with goals from both teams, ending 2-2 after goals from Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez for Arsenal a double Argentine set from Sergio Aguero and Martin Demichelis.

But there was also a moment that Arsenal fans will be worried about, after Mathieu Debuchy was stretchered off midway through the second half.

The new signing from Newcastle United went down under no challenge inside his own half and immediately seemed in a massive amount of pain.

He ended up getting subbed off on a stretcher for Callum Chambers - with a blanket on and gas and air provided it certainly looks like a very serious injury for the French international.

No timescale has yet been given but if it is as serious as it looked he will likely join Olivier Giroud on the long-term injury list - with the ties against Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund all looking very unlikely from the initial evidence.
