Arsenal player ratings vs Manchester City: Sanchez stars, Ozil disappoints again

Arsenal were unlucky to draw 2-2 with Manchester City today, but how did their players fare individually today? Here are the player ratings...

Wojciech Szczesny 7 - questionable distribution throughout the game and could've done better with Demichelis' header after getting a hand to the ball, but somewhat redeemed himself with a crucial last gasp save from Edin Dzeko.

Mathieu Debuchy 7 - impressive today, particularly defensively and his injury seemed to disrupt Arsenal's fluency for the rest of the game. Gunners fans have to pray that his injury isn't serious.

Laurent Koscielny 7 - mostly solid, but almost had a nightmare when his clearance rebounded off Dzeko and onto the post. Read the game well and broke up City attacks.

Per Mertesacker 6 - for someone as physically imposing as the German, he simply doesn't win enough in the air and doesn't dominate in defence. Struggled with City's movement at times, particularly in the first half.

Nacho Monreal 5 - Doesn't offer a great deal and continues to disappoint even when given the chance to shine with Kieran Gibbs out injured. Struggled against Navas' pace in the first half, but was offered little support from Ozil.

Mathieu Flamini 5 - Poor tracking on Aguero's goal and whilst he provides physicality, he doesn't spring attacks in the way a better defensive midfielder could.

Jack Wilshere 8 - Very average for around an hour, but then burst into life. Outstanding, quick feet for his deftly finished goal and seemed to gain confidence from there with an assist.

Aaron Ramsey 6 - not quite at his best today, Ramsey was well shackled by Fernandinho and couldn't impact the game as much as he'd have wanted to despite laying on Wilshere's goal.

Mesut Ozil 6 - Wenger must realise that Ozil isn't a left sided midfielder. The German international was poor once again today, and didn't offer Monreal any protection down City's right hand side.

Alexis Sanchez 9 - the star man for Arsenal today. Always bright and energetic, the Chilean was a danger with his excellent dribbling before a frankly stunning volley put the Gunners in front - justifying his price tag.

Danny Welbeck 7 - could've been the perfect debut for Welbeck having gone through on goal, but his beautiful chip over Joe Hart came back off the post. Offered Arsenal pace through the middle and whilst not everything came off for him today, it was a decent debut.

Calum Chambers 6 - came on for Debuchy and defended well in limited playing time.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - wasn't on the pitch long enough to make an impact.

Mikel Arteta - wasn't on the pitch long enough to make an impact.
