Fans confident Welbeck will tear apart City this weekend

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been backed to score on his potential debut against Manchester City this weekend.

Fans are backing new Arsenal signing Danny Welbeck to have an instant impact for the club against Manchester City this weekend.

The striker joined on transfer deadline day in a £16 million deal from Manchester United and a poll on the Daily Mirror’s website suggests that fans feel he will hit the back of net against the champions.

Welbeck goes into the game off the back of a brace against Switzerland, which gave England a winning start as they look to qualify for Euro 2016.

At the time of writing, a huge 77% to have taken part in the online poll believed Welbeck would score on his Premier League debut for the Gunners this weekend.

He is expected to lead the Arsenal attack although Arsene Wenger was non-committal over the player’s chances of starting when he was pressed over the issue at his press conference ahead of the game yesterday.

If he does find his goalscoring touch straight away, Arsenal have a great chance of picking up three points against the Premier League champions.
