Swans boss Garry Monk has been pictured with the Manager of the Month award for August.
Swansea boss Garry Monk has been named the Premier League's Manager of the Month for August and he looked delighted with the award.
Monk received the recognition after the Swan's perfect start to the season has elevated them up to second in the table.
The Swans started their campaign with a win against Manchester United at Old Trafford and the momentum they have gained from this seems to have provided them a platform to build upon.
Since the opening day win the Welsh side have gone on to beat Burnley and West Bromwich Albion, meaning that Monk was a deserved winner of the accolade.
Many had tipped the Welsh team as possible relegation candidates this campaign, but this start proves that opinion may have been unfounded and they will now be looking to kick on and maintain their high standards.
It is the first time Monk has ever won the award and he was understandably pleased with the recognition of the excellent job he has done.
“It’s an honour and privilege, but it’s very much a collective – it’s not about individuals," he said to the club's official site. "For me, it’s about the players, myself, the staff around me day-to-day and the staff in the office working hard. This is who I dedicate the award to."
Monk's side take on the only other side in the Premier League with a 100% record this weekend, Chelsea, in what looks a tough test.
