Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has signed a new five-year deal with the Blues, tying him down to the club for his long term future.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho showed his hand at the start of this season when he opted to give the Belgian the number one spot ahead of Petr Cech.
Courtois has shown the consistency and quality which became synonymous with his three years at Atletico Madrid and Blues fans will now suggest it was only a matter of time before the Belgian signed on the dotted line of a new contract.
Unsurprisingly he looked delighted after he'd put pen to paper on the new deal, which further throws Cech’s career into doubt.
The Czech Republic international could see the contract as a sign that he’s never going to be number one again while Courtois is fit and healthy, which could force him to consider his options this January.
