Marcos Rojo has been singing praises of fellow Manchester United new arrivals Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao.
While Argentina international winger Di Maria joined the Red Devils from European champions Real Madrid for a club-record £59.7 million last month, Colombian striker Falcao moved to the Manchester outfit on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco on transfer deadline day.
The duo are expected to start for United in their Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford on Sunday, and so is Rojo, who himself moved to the 20-time English champions from Sporting Lisbon for a reported transfer fee of £16m.
Rojo and Falcao have yet to make their respective debuts for United, while Di Maria has featured one – a goalless draw with Burnley away from home in the Premier League just before the two-week international break.
Di Maria and Rojo are international teammates and were key players in Argentina’s march to the 2014 World Cup final. The latter has highlighted what makes the former Benfica star such a brilliant player.
‘He's got a lot of quality’, the defender told Perform. ‘He is very sharp and very fast so he can help a lot attacking in the second line’.
Of Falcao, Rojo said: ‘There are some good strikers in the squad, but Falcao is always in the penalty box. He is very sharp and capable to make the most of any chance’.
Falcao is one of the best three finishers in the world (when fit) and could prove to be United’s best summer signing.
With Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Juan Mata still going strong, United manager Louis van Gaal has a star-studded attacking line-up that should be considered as one of the best in Europe (on paper) (click here to read more).
How Van Gaal is able to make these star players work together remains to be seen.
