Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger gave an update on Aaron Ramsey at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester City game.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will be assessed ahead of the game against Manchester City.
The Frenchman says the Welsh star has a chance of making the game after he limped off while playing for Wales against Andorra.
"Ramsey will be assessed today. He has a chance for Saturday. He has a minor ankle problem," said Wenger.
"I'm relieved that his injury is not serious because we had a nightmare with him last year."
There was a boost elsewhere in terms of fitness news, with Wenger confirming that a key trio of players are fit and available.
"Gibbs, Arteta and Ozil are fit and will be in the squad."
Wenger was also left purring over new signing Danny Welbeck, who joined the club for £16 million from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
"Danny Welbeck is young and I feel he can improve his career here - he is confident."
"I cannot tell you if Welbeck will start against City but it's a possibility. I have to assess the squad."
"I was happy to take a permanent transfer with Danny Welbeck. When you analyse Welbeck's game, he has the qualities to play down the middle but he is very versatile."
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back after a long international break after they dropped points in a match against Leicester City, which they were heavy favourites to win.
"We have to accept our schedule and deal with it. We dropped points against Leicester and we want to make up for it."
