Former Arsenal transfer target Serge Aurier suffered a bad head injury while playing for the Ivory Coast.

Former Arsenal transfer target and current PSG star Serge Aurier was surrounded by medics and physios after taking a blow to the head during the Ivory Coast’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon.

Aurier clashed heads with Stephane Mbia from a corner and instantly hitting the deck requiring immediate treatment. The video shows players from both countries immediately calling for assistance from their team benches as panic started to set in after the clash.

Aurier was reported to be the initial candidate for Arsenal to replace the outgoing Bacary Sagna who opted to join Premier League rivals Manchester City earlier this summer.

A statement from the Ivory Coast’s FA on Facebook revealed that Aurier lost consciousness and fingers crossed he makes a speedy and problem free return to the PSG first team after this latest mark to be left on the international break.

Cameroon secured a comfortable 4-1 from the game.
