The Counter-Strike zombie apocalypse will be playable by all on Steam
Nexon has announced Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is to enter public beta testing on 23rd September.
In doing so the company has also revealed some details of the game. According to a press release, “a huge number of modes will be available, featuring both PvP and PvE gameplay".
Going on to talk about various new modes Nexon writes, “possess and use, to a dangerous effect, the various unique abilities in Zombie Hero; lead a team of survivors to build and defend a base against continuous waves of zombies in Shelter Mode; or advance through intense Zombie Scenarios that will throw players into boss fights, among other activities. Even outside of zombies, there are more than 20 modes to explore, such as Beast Mode, Bazooka Mode, and Football Mode. Veteran fans of the Counter-Strike series will also surely be glad to see a number of offerings from the original iteration, such as Bomb Defusal and Hostage Rescue.”
For long-time CS fans some of the game's classic maps such as de-dust will be included, as well as a selection of new maps with names like Rex, Big Tree, Camouflage and Greesia.
The game will feature more traditional Counter-Strike weapons along with new ones available in zombie modes, such as Dragon Claws, energy pistols and sci-fi styled machine rifles.
“Both fans of Counter-Strike and players who are new to the game will have a full-blown shooter experience in a well-restored legendary FPS” said Kenny Chang, Nexon Europe CEO. “New weapons, new modes, and new elements inspiring new styles of play, mixed with everything that made the game such a classic in the first place are some things that we’re really looking forward to bringing to Steam.”
