Arsenal star Theo Walcott has been speaking about Danny Welbeck, and has urged him to take an important step to be a success.
The England international argues his countryman must develop a more single-minded streak, if he is to develop into a prolific goalscorer.
So often praised for the teamwork and his all-round game, Welbeck must show the signs of a classic goalpoacher if he is to become the type of 20 goal plus per season striker Arsenal desire him to be.
Walcott told the club's website: "I would tell him to do is be a little more selfish because he’s unselfish at times, which isn’t a bad thing but I think he’ll get more goals if he’s more selfish."
Welbeck has a great chance of being a success, but Walcott's comments underline he is far from being a finished article; for example, could you imagine the winger telling Radamel Falcao where he must improve?
Arsenal do have a striker with great potential in Welbeck but at the moment that is where he is. Scorer of nine goals last season, he will be expected to step it up at the Gunners.
Walcott does have belief in the striker, labelling him 'exciting', and discussing one of his main strengths; "I think the boss will enjoy working with him. The fans definitely will - he’s very exciting and he’s very strong."
