Tottenham Hotspur striker scored for Togo but couldn't help them avoid defeat.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor showed he still has his scoring touch, netting in Togo's African Nations Cup qualifier.
Adebayor scored a late equaliser for his country, only for Ghana to net a winner through a Christian Atsu goal and clinch the game 3-2.
He has one goal to his name for Spurs this season and his header showed he is keeping up his form ahead of the club's match with Sunderland on Saturday.
The club will have to hope the striker suffers no travel complications as he has previously experienced returning from international duty.
The loss may be good news for Tottenham fans, as Togo sit bottom of their group after two games, with Uganda, Guinea and Ghana on either three or four points, and they look an early long shot to qualify for January's tournament.
Should Togo fail to qualify, Spurs will avoid losing Adebayor for up to a month, and dealing with fatigue from the competition in February.
