Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Schneiderlin 'found an agreement' with club, duo impress on international duty

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin says he really wanted a new start after last season.

The Frenchman has revealed he had an agreement to join a club, possibly Tottenham, not in the Champions League.

“I found an agreement to join another club that wasn't in Champions League. I really did want to make a new start. There were offers on the table but Southampton made a clear choice, which was to keep me after the departure of certain players. They look to me for the future,” he’s quoted by the Star.

Spurs were well represented on the international scene last night as Harry Kane scored for England’s under-21s and Ben Davies provided an assist for Wales.

Kane continues a great start to the current season and can look forward to some regular football over the first half of the campaign.

Davies provided an assist for former Spurs midfielder Gareth Bale as Wales won 2-1 in Andorra.

Tottenham central defender Jan Vertonghen continues to be linked with a new deal at the club.

The Belgian is one of the best defenders at White Hart Lane and a new deal could keep him in North London for the foreseeable future.

His agent recently revealed that talks had already taken place with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
