Battlefield 4’s Final Stand DLC - the last additional content for the game - has finally been revealed by DICE.
Set amid arctic Russian landscapes, the DLC will bring in four new “unique and distinct” maps (Operation Whiteout, Hammerhead, Giants of Karelia, and Hanger 21). New “secret prototype weapons and vehicles” are also included which are to include a Battle pick-up rail gun that fires single rounds of kinetic energy and a hover tank prototype using experimental jet propulsion engines to navigate around the battleield
“With Final Stand, we knew from the start that we wanted to evolve the Battlefield experience and offer weapons and vehicles that behave differently than anything else on the battlefield,” say DICE. “Taking place on the artic landscape of Russia, where the scientists of today are experimenting with technology that will define the battlefields of tomorrow (Battlefield 2142, anyone?), Final Stand will deliver four maps that are unique and distinct. With its military installations set against a wintry landscape, expect intense, infantry-focused combat.”
While there’s no launch date yet for Final Stand, if you play Battlefield 4 on PC you will be able to access the content on the game’s Community Test Environment (CTE) this week where one new map from the DLC will be available each day. Slots are limited though so be sure to get on quick. You’ll also need a Battlefield Premium pass to access the new content. Hit this link to sign up to the CTE.
