Lambert backs side to be a test for the best
Paul Lambert has backed his Aston Villa side to prove that they are able to compete with the best in the Premier League in their upcoming fixtures.
Villa take on Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton in their next five matches in the top-tier, but Lambert is not daunted by the prospect and aims to build on their unbeaten start.
“You would probably prefer to have them during the early stages of the season rather than having them at the end when they’re right in their stride,” Lambert said. “We took points off them last season so who’s to say we can’t do it again.”
