Latest Chelsea news: Capello backs Blues, Hazard - Ronaldo swap? 11 year old targeted

All the latest Chelsea news including two links - one could see Eden Hazard go to Real Madrid and another that sees Cristiano Ronaldo coming the other way.

Earlier today, it was revealed that Real Madrid made an attempt to sign Eden Hazard while the Belgium international represented Lille. In the end, the attacker transferred to Chelsea in a £32 million and has improved year upon year.

According to talkSPORT via Belgian outlet DH, Hazard could be lined up as a replacement for seemingly outbound superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United have adopted an aggressive transfer policy of late, with Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao just two of the marquee arrivals to have arrived at Old Trafford in the summer. More, it is believed, could be on the way in the coming transfer windows - and the club may look at making an official approach for Ronaldo.

Reports today indicate that United may not be alone in the running for Ronaldo's signature, as Chelsea could also be interested. While United have a USP - Ronaldo is, of course, a legend at the club - Chelsea have the presence of the player's compatriot Jose Mourinho and the West Londoners could even offer Hazard as a makeweight. In a straight cash deal, £60 million could be offered.

Staying with transfer news, Chelsea could also be looking at a Barcelona prodigy - an 11-year-old one to be precise as Xavier Simons is causing a buzz around Europe.

Elsewhere, renowned manager Fabio Capello envisages one of Bayern Munich or Chelsea to lift the Champions League trophy this term.

“For the Champions League I see Bayern Munich and Chelsea above the rest, even if the Spanish sides do remain dangerous," he said.

And finally, Gary Cahill is vice-captain of England.

"In the next few years, whether Wayne's rested or injured, there might be an opportunity to captain the team," he explained.

"To know that is unbelievable. To have (the captaincy) for the short period of time in both games felt really good. It's something I'm really proud of and I'll relish."
